DESIGNSTAR
Designstar originated out of the need for high quality POS material connecting with the wishes and demands from its sister company ‘Van der Starre’.
Designstar was founded in 2008 as a result of the many positive reactions and questions from external customers. At first there only were three employees working at Designstar.
After this, Designstar started to expand its focus on external clients within the horticulture.
Starting with only designing plant labels Designstar now is capable of doing much more than this. We constructively think with our clients to make them sell their products as well as possible. This results into developing complete sales concepts. You can think of creating your own private label for posters, banners, plant labels and other POS material. If desired, we are also capable of designing a matching website.
Within a few years, Designstar has grown into a company with more than 25 employees, working in different departments. These departmentse work closely together to provide the customer with the uttermost result.
In the meantime Designstar has become a young ambitious company that, despite the economic crisis, has grown and developed into a worthy player in the horticulture business.

Designstar is proud of its socially responsible partners!
One of our partners is ‘Sociaal Werkbedrijf DSW’, a company which works with people with disabilities, located in Zoetermeer. Since 2010 DSW handles the finishing of Designstar’s labels and pot covers.
Since 2013 we have intensified the cooperation. In our own departmentl within the DSW building, Designstar employees work together with DSW employees. Thanks to this beautiful cooperation, the DSW employees get a working rhythm and gain experience in a real work-training company!
TEAM
Designstar is an organization with a Christian identity. The management and most of the employees are Christians who believe that the Bible as God’s revealed will is leading our lives. This is also reflected in our company’s policies and the way we work.
Specifically, this means, for example that, we don’t contribute to advertising and promotional expressions that consciously or unconsciously make an appeal to sexual lust. Also assignments that use religion in a commercial manner, contain blasphemous expressions, discrimination, violence and hatred, or go against Sunday rest are not dealt with by us.
Many Dutch holidays have a Christian origin. This applies, for example, to Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, Ascension and Pentecost. This involves commemorating important historical facts.
We want to do justice to the original purpose of these holidays. Designstar therefore does not cooperate in creating expressions which do not fit the Christian origin.
Sport is healthy, good and something to enjoy. Unfortunately, professional sport works ideals. The athletes are honored above average and are often idols to their fans. Because we believe that this doesn’t do justice to the honor of God our creator, we don’t cooperate in expressions referring to professional sports.
We hope that you understand our position. Of course we are always prepared to exchange thoughts about this.
