Good stewardship for the environment

Good stewardship for the environment

Good stewardship for the environment, creating a safe working environment, forging partnerships and ensuring a good working atmosphere are embedded in Designstar’s approach.

We’re always looking for ways to make the products we supply more sustainable. This includes searching for alternative materials and making our processes as efficient as possible.

One of Designstar’s goals for 2030 is that all labels produced consist of at least 50% recycled material.

Recyclable Materials

Recyclable Materials

All our materials are recyclable; most paper materials are recycled about seven times, and some plastics go through the process an unlimited number of times! It is of course essential that waste is separated properly, so that it doesn’t end up in nature.

Designstar advises its customers to always place the recycling logo and text on labels and pot covers. Using the correct icon on the packaging makes the appropriate waste bin for the material clear to the consumer. It makes it easier for us to all work together on a circular economy!

Recyclable Materials

Recyclable Materials

Designstar’s polypropylene (PP) labels consist of at least 35% recycled material. Polystyrene (PS) labels consist of at least 80% recycled material. In addition, both materials can be recycled again easily, and processed into products such as pots, plant handles, clips and labels.

In addition to plastic labels, Designstar uses various paper-based materials as a more eco-conscious alternative. Our self-developed PLM Bio material is 100% biodegradable.

More information about the materials used by Designstar can be found here.
